About Our Policies
As a current or prospective employee of the University, it is nice to know how things work, what the University will do for you, and what is expected of you. To this end, the University's policies are general guides to policy, practice, terms, and conditions and will serve as a resource to you. The nature of the University as a dynamic place to live and work and the continuing changing nature of legal and regulatory environments also means that policies will change and adapt over time. Policies of Interest
Title IX Policy
91直播视频is committed to addressing and reducing instances of discrimination based on sex or gender, sexual harassment, and sexual violence under Title IX. Institutions of higher education have legal and moral duties to foster campus environments that are free from discrimination. To help meet this goal, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), the administrative agency within the United States Department of Education charged with enforcing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, has issued guidance to help colleges and universities address and prevent sex-based discrimination. Non-Faculty Professional Staff Due Process Policy
Under the Non-Faculty Professional Staff Due Process Policy (PDF), professional staff members who feel there has been a violation, misinterpretation, or inequitable application of University policy may bring their concerns forward. Professional staff who believe that they have been discriminated against or harassed based on a protected category may address it directly with their supervisor or Human Resources. They should consult the applicable policies contained in UNE鈥檚 Personnel Handbook (PDF), which includes an Anti-Harassment policy, a Title IX policy, an Anti-Bullying policy, a Non-Discrimination and Accommodations of Individuals with Disabilities policy, and a Whistle-Blower Protection policy.
Clery Act
The Office of Safety and Security publishes the Annual Crime Statistics Report that complies with the Jeanne Clery Act.
Tobacco and Smoke-Free Campus
Smoke and tobacco use in the workplace have become an important health issue and there is considerable evidence that smoke is harmful not only to smokers but to non-smokers. The 91直播视频 became 100% tobacco-free campus in 2014 and prohibits smoking on campus. Individuals should become familiar with various aspects of the Tobacco and Smoke-Free policy (PDF).
