I am an alumni of Westbrook College and UNE's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.  Prior to higher education, I served in clinical practice for 15 years in adult medical/telemetry and the intensive care as a bedside registered nurse.  I began my academic faculty career at 91Ö±²¥ÊÓƵin 2012. Teaching has included advanced medical/surgical, Pharmacology, Ethics, Health Assessment, Gerontology and the delivery of nursing skills and simulation.

In addition to my role as Director, I serve as the Asst. Director of Experiential Education, overseeing all clinical/experiential education including nursing skills lab, simulation, acute care and community clinicals, program service learning and preceptorship placements.  Areas of interest include education with all leves of nursing students.  I have a passion for working with the older population, teaching Gerontology, and the use of Reminiscing/Life Review strategies.  I am to deepen students’ understanding of interprofessional education and the impact it has on positive outcomes for the clients we serve.

In 2015, I was granted Fellowship by the Maine Gerontological Society (MGS).  In 2023, I was admitted as an inaugural fellow into the Emerging Leaders program through NurseTRUST, an organization created in 2017 by alumni members of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellows.
