91Ö±²¥ÊÓƵCollege of Pharmacy announces APhA-ASP local counseling winners
The 91Ö±²¥ÊÓƵchapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) has announced the winners of the annual patient counseling competition. Tiffany Vu (COP, ’19) received top honors, with Kenricka McSweeney (COP, ’20) and Roxy Mehryari (COP, ’18) named first and second runner-up, respectively. Vu will now represent 91Ö±²¥ÊÓƵat the national competition, taking place at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Francisco on March 24-27.
The goal of the APhA-ASP National Patient Counseling Competition (NPCC) is to encourage student pharmacists in their efforts toward becoming better patient educators. The competition is designed to reflect changes that are occurring in practice, to promote and encourage further professional development of the student pharmacist and to reinforce the role of the pharmacist as a health care provider and educator.
