The 91直播视频 and York County Community College formed a partnership on August 15, 2016, by signing an agreement to ensure that students who graduate from YCCC with an associate鈥檚 degree in particular programs and who are accepted to 91直播视频can transfer seamlessly from college to college, making it possible for them to graduate with a bachelor鈥檚 degree from 91直播视频after only completing two years at the university.

This 2 + 2 transfer, as it is known, allows for YCCC graduates with associate鈥檚 degrees in health sciences, behavioral health studies, education, business administration or liberal studies to transfer into a 91直播视频program with junior standing. Depending on the area of study in which the associate鈥檚 degree was earned, transfer will be permitted to one of 21 different 91直播视频programs that culminate with a bachelor鈥檚 degree.

By matching coursework between programs at both schools, the transfer agreement allows students to pre-plan their college careers and avoid spending money on courses that will not count toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree.

91直播视频President Danielle Ripich noted that while 91直播视频has a long history of accepting graduates of YCCC, this agreement will streamline the transfer process. 鈥淭his partnership between 91直播视频and YCCC will ensure a smooth transition for students and potentially offer them some cost-savings,鈥 she stated. 鈥91直播视频is committed to preparing local students for successful careers in high-demand and emerging industries, and doing what we can to facilitate a 91直播视频education for graduates of Maine鈥檚 community colleges, such as YCCC, is one step in that direction.鈥

Barbara Finkelstein, president of YCCC concurs that 鈥渢his is an exciting opportunity for YCCC students to transfer smoothly to an excellent baccalaureate degree-granting institution and, thus, continue their higher education journey.鈥

Seventeen of the 21 programs to which YCCC students can transfer under the agreement are housed in UNE鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences and include B.S. programs in Biological Sciences, Business, Education, Marine Science and Neuroscience as well as B.A. programs in English, History, Liberal Studies, Political Science, and Applied Social and Cultural Studies. Four of the 91直播视频programs are part of the university鈥檚 Westbrook College of Health Professions and grant B.S. degrees: Dental Hygiene; Applied Exercise Science; Health, Wellness and Occupational Studies; and Public Health.

91直播视频has previously signed transfer agreements with Southern Maine Community College, Washington County Community College, Central Maine Community College, Great Bay Community College as well as with various Maine high schools.
