Physical, Occupational Therapy Departments hold clinic for 91直播视频community

In an effort to enrich clinical and team skills and provide experiential learning in an interdisciplinary environment, the Occupational and Physical Therapy Departments announced a new collaboration through the 91直播视频Community Therapy Center.

Elizabeth Crampsey, M.S., OTR/L, BCPR, coordinator of the CTC, developed an upper extremity and lower extremity consultation clinic for 91直播视频faculty, staff, students, employees and friends of UNE. The group held its first clinic on September 25, 2015 with four clients.

The program reflects learning objectives for first year Occupational Therapy and third year Physical Therapy students. Faculty and students will provide consultations for individuals with concerns related to the upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, hand) and lower extremity (hip, knee, ankle, foot).  Occupational Therapy students will apply the treatment plan further to address occupational participation and performance including activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily of living. Physical Therapy students will complete an evaluation report that emphasizes identifying the musculoskeletal problem and creating a plan to help the client attain their goals or make referrals as needed.

The faculty facilitators and mentors for the program include Dr. Erin Hartigan, PT, D.P.T., Ph.D, OCS, ATC, Professor Mary Beth Patnaude M.S., OTR/L and adjunct Professor Shelby Hutchinson, M.S., OTR/L.
