Ellen Beaulieu quoted in 'mHealthNews' article about telehealth technology
Ellen Beaulieu, Ed.D., vice-president of Strategic Initiatives, was quoted in an article in mHealthNews about state leaders in Maine coming together to discuss telehealth.
Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, recently held a roundtable discussion about telehealth, which is the use of electronic information and telecommunication technology for long-distance patient care. The roundtable included physicians, legislators, hospital officials, and educational leaders. They discussed the need for improved broadband connections in Maine and a more defined reimbursement strategy.
Educational leaders agreed, stating that students expect to be able to use this technology when they leave school and begin to practice medicine. Beaulieu said today's crop of student clinicians are learning that telehealth "isn't something different," but a regular means of delivering healthcare.鈥
