Watercolors by Maurice Auger on exhibit at Campus Center
"About Windows," a collection of watercolor paintings by artist Maurice (Moe) Auger, of Alfred, Maine, will be on display at UNE's Biddeford Campus Center September 4-30, 2013.
The series, "About Windows‚" covers a ten-year span of work by Auger, who has been painting for over 40 years. Born from his interest in old wood architecture, "About Windows" depicts Auger's fascination with the fact that windows allow one to see through their glass, offering an understanding of the people living in the home to which the windows belong, while also reflecting the home's surroundings and giving one insight into its location.
"About Windows" is Auger's first solo exhibition of watercolors.
Auger's paintings have been exhibited at Maine College of Art in Portland Maine; The Engine Gallery in Biddeford, Maine; as well as businesses such as Ameriprize Financial Services in Scarborough, Maine; Focal Point Physical Therapy, also in Scarborough; and several private homes. Auger is a member of the Sanford Springvale Art Association and York Art Association. His latest series, "," can be viewed online.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE's Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or by phone at (207-284-6394).
