91直播视频College of Osteopathic Medicine announces Eastern Connecticut Health Network partnership

The 91直播视频 College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) announces a collaborative partnership with , based in Manchester, Conn.   

Under the partnership, 16 third-year medical students from the College of Osteopathic Medicine will join Rockville General (based in Vernon, Conn.) and Manchester Memorial hospitals in July 2011 for a year of clinical and academic training.

The 91直播视频College of Osteopathic Medicine currently has 10 core clinical campuses with 18 training facilities.  ECHN becomes the medical school's first training partner in Connecticut.  UNECOM students currently train in locations throughout the Northeast at hospitals and medical systems in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. 

The students will rotate through medical specialties such as family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, behavioral health, surgery and community health.

"This collaboration creates a full medical school affiliation that provides a core clinical campus together with faculty appointments for ECHN medical staff members that are invaluable for UNECOM," states Marc. B. Hahn, DO, dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and senior vice president for health affairs.  He adds, "This partnership extends our already impressive reach in educating and placing our medical students with some of the finest doctors in New England."

Since its founding in 1978, UNECOM has graduated more than 2,500 physician alumni.
