Women's studies author Susan Cayleff to speak on sports and homophobia Oct. 5th
The 91直播视频 is hosting a talk by Susan E. Cayleff, professor of women's studies at San Diego State University, titled "Contested Bodies and Cultural Collision: Homophobia and Sports" at noon, Oct. 5, 2009 in the Campus Center Multi-Purpose Rooms on UNE's Biddeford Campus.
Susan E. Cayleff is a professor in the Department of Womens Studies at San Diego State University, where she directs the Graduate Program.
She is the author of four books, one of which, Babe: The Life and Legend of Babe Didrikson Zaharias, a biography of this versatile athlete, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Two additional books are in press.
She has written more than three dozen scholarly articles and spoken nationally and internationally on topics in the history of medicine, womens bodies and sexualities, homophobia and sports, and biography and life narratives, among others. She is campus co-chair of SafeZones@SDSU, one of largest LGBTQ educational and support programs in the western United States.
The lecture, free and open to the public, is hosted by UNE's Program and co-sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Programs.
